Climate change, scarce resources and the imperative of food security – the bioeconomy, as a sustainable form of biobased economic activity, offers a promising approach to overcoming major global challenges. International cooperation is of great importance for this. With ‘Bioeconomy International’, the BMBF has created the basis for successful research collaborations with non-EU researchers. The brochure provides an overview of the range of funded projects – from plant breeding, plant protection, food technology, biomaterials and biotechnology.
